Sophomore Travis Wishner scored six goals to lead Rio Hondo College in a 24-10 South Coast Conference loss to visiting Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday.
Wishner's six goals give him a team-leading 49 this season. He scored two of Rio Hondo's three goals in the first quarter of Wednesday's contest. The Roadrunners trailed 3-2 after the opening period and were down 8-3 at halftime.
The Mounties blew the game open in the second half, scoring seven times in the third before closing out the contest with nine goals in the final quarter.
Matthew Alvarez scored twice for the Roadrunners with Royce Jones and Jacob Ayala adding a goal each to complete Rio Hondo's scoring.
Robert Castanon-Delgado made eight saves in goal for the Roadrunners.
The loss dropped Rio Hondo to 3-15 overall and 0-4 in conference play. The Roadrunners will look to snap a four-game losing streak on Friday when they open play at the two-day Riverside City College tournament.
