LOS ANGELES – Kenny Hunt scored a team-high 25 points while Dorian Tate had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Rio Hondo College in a tough 88-84 loss at Los Angeles Southwest College on Friday night.
The Roadrunners battled despite suiting up just six players for the contest. Rio Hondo led 44-38 at halftime but couldn't hold on for the win.
Hunt's 25 points was a new season-high for the sophomore. He added 6 assists, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Fidel Cabrera provided a spark off the bench with 20 points and 5 boards while Jordan Peterson chipped in with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
With the loss, the Roadrunners fell to 1-14 overall. They are scheduled to be back in action on Jan. 10 when Rio Hondo hosts Compton College at 5 p.m.
