Men’s Soccer: No. 11 Roadrunners’ unbeaten streak snapped, fall 2-0 at Cerritos

In a battle of two of the top teams in the South Coast Conference as well as the state, the No. 11 state-ranked Rio Hondo College men’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at No. 9 Cerritos College on Tuesday.

In a battle of two of the top teams in the South Coast Conference as well as the state, the No. 11 state-ranked Rio Hondo College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at No. 9 Cerritos College on Tuesday.

The Roadrunners had their seven-game unbeaten streak snapped as they fell to 9-2-3 overall and 3-1-1 in South Coast Conference play.

Rio Hondo was limited to just five shots in the contest while Cerritos (11-2-1, 5-0-0 SCC) had 13. Arturo Bustamante had a busy time in goal for the Roadrunners and made three saves.

The Falcons got goals in the 27^th minute from Arnold Castillo and 77^th from Pablo Caparelli.

Rio Hondo returns to action on Friday (Oct. 22) when the Roadrunners host Los Angeles City College in a 4 p.m. South Coast Conference game.
