Cruz, Barros-Santiago lead Rio Hondo at Lemoore College Invitational
LEMOORE – Led by a pair of top-six finishes by sophomore Larry Cruz and freshman Mason Barros-Santiago, the Rio Hondo College wrestling team totaled 56.5 points to take 14th place out of 20 teams at the 2025 Lemoore College Golden Eagle Invitational. The event took place on Saturday at Golden Eagle Arena.
Cruz took fifth place in the 157-pound weight class for the Roadrunners' top individual finish. In the fifth-place match, Cruz won by fall over Roman Gutierrez of Fresno City College at the 2:10 mark.
Barros-Santiago also reached the fifth-place match in the 125-pound division by suffered a 4-0 loss to Adrian Jimenez of Cerritos College to end in sixth place.
The Roadrunners return to the mat next Saturday (Oct. 4) when they are set to compete at the Santa Ana College tournament.
