Following another impressive Rio Hondo College wrestling season, the Roadrunners totaled six All-Southwest Conference postseason honors.
Led by an individual state title by sophomore Khalil Tucker, the Rio Hondo College wrestling team totaled 48 points to finish in ninth place overall at the 2019 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships in Fresno on Saturday.
Rio Hondo College will send a total of seven wrestlers on to the state championships following the squad’s fifth-place team finish at the 2019 Southern California Regionals at Santa Ana College on Saturday.
The Rio Hondo College wrestling team won nine of 10 matches on Wednesday night on its way to an impressive 47-6 Southwest Conference victory at Palomar College.
The Rio Hondo College wrestling team took a break from dual meet action on Saturday to compete at the West Hills Invitational. The event at West Hills College Lemoore featured some of the state’s top programs in action. The Roadrunners went on to finish in 10th place out of 16 teams, scoring 49 team points.
