WHITTIER – Katelynn Stanley and Aliana Isabelle Paxon both had 7 kills each to lead Rio Hondo College in a dominant 3-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Los Angeles City College on Friday.
The 25-11, 25-6, 25-14 victory snapped a three-game losing streak and improved the Roadrunners to 5-10 overall as well as 1-2 in the SCC.
Also contributing on offense were Nymeria Puga with 6 kills and Rebecca Tarango with 5 kills. Annais Rodriguez had a huge game as well with 9 aces to go along with a team-high 17 assists.
Rio Hondo will look to keep the momentum going on Wednesday (Oct. 15) when the Roadrunners travel to East Los Angeles College for a 6 p.m. South Coast Conference match.
